100 Things To Do Before You Graduate #21 Go On An Alternative Spring Break
This semester I went on an alternative spring break trip to Houston, Texas. My friend bought me the tickets as an early birthday gift. I left on Friday the 13th from Logan Airport at 7 in the morning and landed in at the Hobby Airport in Houston at around 11. While I was there we went to the zoo to feed the giraffes and took a ride on a train that goes through the park and tells you information about all the different exhibits that they have. We also went to Kemah to go to a boardwalk they have there. We went on rides and played a bunch of games while listening to the bands that were there. We also went to the aquarium where you can feed and touch stingrays. The stingrays were slimy and if they could see you standing close to the edge they would swim closer and come up toward you. They have a gift shop and a restaurant where you can experience what it would be like to eat under the ocean. I got a dolphin stuffed animal from the gift shop because they’re my favorite animal. My favorite thing that I got to experience while I was in Houston was see Ariana Grande live. She performed at the Houston livestock and rodeo show so there were many other things to do before she came on. They had a carnival outside where my friend and I went on some rides and played games to try and win stuff. We also got some caramel apples and got matching henna tattoos together. After we were done with the outside, we went inside to go look at all the animals. There were cows, pigs, donkeys, sheep, and bunnies. There was an area called “The Birthing Station” where they had their newest baby cows, pigs, and sheep with their mothers. There were also some pregnant cows too. The baby pigs were feeding and the baby sheep were sleeping. Nearby there was a case with baby chicks hatching out of there, most of them were unhatched but there were about 2 who were just beginning to come out of their shell. Later on we went into another building and watched some events with the animals. I did not like them all that much, but I was only there to see Ariana Grande. The rodeo to me seemed like abuse towards the animals. After the events were over Ariana finally came on. Her performance was unbelievable and her voice is even more incredible live. It was one of the best nights of my life and I am glad I could experience it with my best friend.
