Commuter Problems
On a normal day at Salem State parking turns into a Cold War after the clock strikes 8:01 am. However, recently, parking lots have become full blown war zones because of the snow. Cars stalking people all the way to their vehicles to get first dibs (or even cheating and asking where they parked), parking in spots that aren't real, and parking so badly that they take up two! 9 am I'm looking for a spot and per usual there aren't any. I know that classes get out at 9:15 and there are bound to be some commuters who leave after their 8 am. But I give serious thought to my situation and wonder if I really want to sit and wait for 15 minutes with 4 other cars, taking laps around the lot. I decide I can't wait that long and I figure I'll just look for street parking and maybe I'll get lucky (p.s. you never get lucky with street parking). Of course, there are some spots on the street, none of which are big enough to fit anything but a Smart Car in. So, I go back to the Peabody lot and every other commuter is going in circles or following someone. To my surprise there is a spot opening up in the first row of cars in the commuter section. I can see another car rushing toward the spot but I'm so much closer. I snatch up the spot and I know I ruined that other commuter's day, but I don't care. I survived SSU's crappy parking situation, hooray!!

Doesn't look so bad... but looks are deceiving.
