Halloween in Salem: Parade
|
On Thursday, October 2nd I went to The Haunted Happenings Grand Parade with
the school along with a handful of Salem State students. The parade kicks off the month for Haunted Happenings in October leading up to Halloween. The parade starts around 5:30 but we, the SSU crew did not start walking until around 7:30/8. The school had their very own float; on it there were three witches, the same witches that are in the library now. A lot of people were complementing on the float and cheering for SSU. There was a lot of people in their costumes, even the kids, who only had one thing in mind: candy. Once we started walking, there were a lot of people. I saw hundreds and hundreds of them. The theme this year for the parade was fantasy. In the parade was RHA, The hockey/cheerleading team, etc. The parade went all the way to the commons were there was a like a festival. There was a concert and a lot of people in their costumes. I saw a variety of cool costumes. There were the people from Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and lots more. It was nice to see the whole community (not just Salem but others as well) come together for the day to kick off the month for Haunted Happenings. I liked the parade and participating in it. Definitely going to the parade again next year. |
